10th October 2011

This is my individual evaluation of my own work.

The completion of my work could be better, because I know I have uploaded somethings a little later then I was meant too. I have tried to say who has completed what as much as possible especially when i haven't uploaded their work too. For this I think I am in-between level 2 and 3.

I have tried to research what we have been set in class, but sometimes I don't do the research to as good a standard as I could. The information I write down on here is sometimes not as much as i write in my note book which is obviously not a good thing. For this I think I am about a level 2.

I try to be as creative as I can with my presentation because I like to present things nicely, and for them to look good. This means i try to take more care of these things then most people would. I have showed the care and creativity in my work by using Comic Life to make some of the posters for the Iconic Directors and for the storyboards. I have also used iMovie to try and create some audio tracks, and used still images to show what i have been doing. For this I think I am in-between level 2 and 3.

My blog doesn't look like there is enough work on it because sometimes I try to get away with not doing as much so i have finished the work in class. I think some of the work looks like i have spent time on it because it is nicely presented and obviously not done in lessons. For this I think I am about a level 3.

Overall I think my performance on my blog and individually could have been better because I know i could have done some more independent study, like for example watching some films and analyzing them and looking into some of the tasks in class more closely.
Overall I think I am about a level 3.

6th October 2011

This is our groups final preliminary video.
Georgina and Andrea were the actors, and I was filming.

6th October 2011

To be able to shoot our film, my group and I have a shot list, a storyboard, and a script. Once we had finally done all of these we were able to start shooting.

Shot List
1. Policewomen walking into the room (close up of her feet)
2. Policewomen sitting down (long shot)
3. Lara sitting in the dark room (Mid-shot)
4. Policewomen gets out the photos (Mid-shot)
5. Policewomen pushes the photos toward Lara (Close up on photos)
6. Policewomen and Lara look at the photo's (Mid-shot)
7. Lara and the policewomen talk (2 shot)
8. Man walks in. (Long shot)
9. Man walks out. (Long shot)
10. Man gives Lara a piece of paper (Close up)
11. Policewomen walks out (Long shot)
12. Lara walks out with the paper in hand. (long shot of her, close up of the paper)

Storyboard

With our storyboard, we had to change shots 2 and 3 because they were too broad, we needed to crop the pictures so it didn't look like the people were acting strangely. We also had to add shots in between 6, 7, and 8 so it was more continuous.

Script

This is our script for our scene.

3rd October

Today in lesson we were looking at the Lighting, the Composition and the Editing of our preliminary tasks.  Andrea, Georgina and myself all took one of these to research.
I looked into the editing, which meant looking on YouTube at tutorials that would help me learn how to use Final Cut Pro to a better standard. I took a print screen of the tutorials I looked at to try and help myself learn better.
This print screen was from a tutorial about Batch Capture.
This tutorial helped teach me how to use batch capture. I will later upload a picture of the notes/instructions I wrote down to show how this helped me.

This is a picture of my notes that I wrote to help me understand the step-by-step process of Batch Capture.

Andrea looked into the Lighting, which meant taking photos of the lighting in the positions we would need them in our scenes. There will be a picture of one of these shots later.

Georgina looked into the composition, which meant taking photos of the actions, so basically making a storyboard. There will be a picture of these later.

2nd October 2011

Thriller Narritive
In this lesson, I learnt about the difference between mystery and suspense. I learnt what linear, non-linear and restricted and omniscient means and I also started thinking about what my preliminary scene will be about, after our teacher gave us the title "6 Ways to Kill your Husband".

Mystery means that there is an interlectual process where no information is given. It is the ultimate game of "Who done what?".

Suspense means that there is an emotional process where only a little information is given to make the audience understand what is happening from the beginning.

Omniscient means that the audience knows what is going to happen, when the characters do not. It is a little like dramatic irony.

Restricted means that the audience do not know what is going to happen, so anything that happens comes as a big shock.

Linear means that the story goes from beginning to middle to end.

Non-linear means that the story doesnt go in the right order. So there might be flashbacks of the past.

Synopsis
Lara Richman, an attractive accountant, has a hidden secret. She has had 5 husbands that have all met tragic ends in mysterious circumstances. After the 6th honeymoon, she arrives home to police at her front door. She is taken in for questioning, but starts to feel guilty and keeps having emotional flashbacks of herself and her past husbands. This leads her to admit her murders, but just before she admits to the latest murder, a strange dark figure walks into the interrogation room, and hands her something. She then later escapes.

30th September 2011

This is the Seven sequence that Andrea, Georgina and myself have made.
We learnt how to add pictures, videos, text and music to the Final Cut Pro, to create our title sequence for Surveillance. We also learnt how to add the effects over everything to make it look more like the Seven opening title like we were trying to achieve.
